In her new book, The Luminous Heartbeat historian Wendy Victor points out that women were once the divine figures of power, much like the ancient Egyptians who viewed the universe as a male-female duality. Wendy says the concept of male dominance is a fairly new development—just 5,000 years old. The Luminous Heartbeat was awarded a “Finalist” in the National Best Book Awards 2008 in the category “Women’s Issues.” Wendy holds a master’s degree in women’s history from Sarah Lawrence College and is a certified Feng Shui professional. She frequently contributes to the Palm Beach Daily News, and her distinguished community involvement in Palm Beach earned her the President’s Volunteer Service Award for commitment to strengthening our nation in 2006.  www.luminousheartbeat.com
